Off-Road Round 1 - Review by Stuart.

Round one of the off-road season started well. The weather was quite good to us for a change – no snow/rain. There were seven drivers present all running 4 wheel drive. The format for the meeting was 3 qualifying heats and 3 finals. Heat 1 had 3 drivers, heat 2 had 4. The track was damp to start with but soon dried. The wooden jumps Darren took down provided some interesting racing lines as they were placed near corners. Heat 1 in each round was close. Heat 2 was dominated by Dan with the rest of us playing catch up. Darren had some teething troubles with his Durango but I’m sure it will settle down. Due to the lack of drivers/marshalls we ran the B finals with 3 drivers and the A’s with 4. Dan was well ahead of the rest of us in each final so we need to come up with a collective plan to slow him down.

A great start to the season – good racing, good company – what Sundays are meant for.
